As science teachers gear up for another school year, ThinkLink is rolling out a set of updates designed with one goal in mind: giving educators more time to teach and less time wrestling with technology. Built directly from feedback shared by teachers and administrators over the past year, these changes touch everything from assessment creation to district-level reporting. Here’s a closer look at what’s new.
Assessments That Work the Way You Teach
Building and managing assessments just became more flexible. Teachers can now create custom assessments from scratch or modify existing ones by adding or removing questions to better fit their classroom needs. Exit cards have received the same treatment, with the option to assign publisher-created cards or build original ones using ThinkLink’s question bank.
Assessment controls have been enhanced. Teachers can lock assessments after their due date, reopen submissions for individual students who need a little more time, and track exactly how long students spend working through their assessments. Real-time student monitoring on the Code Submission page rounds out the update, giving teachers visibility into student progress as it happens rather than after the fact.

A Faster Path to Assignment Creation
The assignment workflow has been redesigned to be quicker and more intuitive, helping teachers set things up correctly the first time. A single assignment link can now be shared across multiple classes, eliminating the need to duplicate work. Teachers can also send students straight to a specific eBook page, saving valuable class time.
Digital Teacher’s Guides are now available across all FOSS Pathways courses, and they carry over highlights and notes from year to year, so preparation done today isn’t lost when the next school year begins.
Sharper Insights for Administrators
Administrators gain new reporting tools as well, including a Standards Report that tracks performance by standard at the district, school, class, or individual student level. The reporting experience overall has been enhanced with more filter options and improved status indicators. Assessment data can now connect directly to tools like Power BI or Tableau for deeper analysis.
Teachers and administrators looking to get familiar with these updates can check out the ThinkLink Quick Start Guide, watch pre-recorded onboarding webinars, or schedule a back-to-school refresher session through Technical Support.
